Overview
The University of the Incarnate Word is a Catholic Institution and is one of the Southwest's top-rated liberal arts schools. The school has been offering college classes since 1909, and it became recognized as a university in 1998, when it was re-accredited at both the baccalaureate and masters degree level. The University commits itself to educational excellence and promotes life-long learning and places great importance on the development of the whole person. The University of the Incarnate Word offers a very wide variety of undergraduate and graduate programs in fields including Business, Communication, Human Resources and Information Systems. Student Appeal
The University of the Incarnate Word is constantly changing its course offerings to adapt to the changing needs of today's students. The school began offering classes for adult learners in 1995, and it began offering online degrees in 2000. Students are able to receive a very high-quality education at a school which emphasizes their growth as a whole person and their relationship with God. A wide variety of student support services are available, and faculty members are highly experienced in their respective fields.

The Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies is intended for students who are interested in pursuing careers in religious education and/or church ministry, in addition to those students who want to pursue graduate degrees in religious studies. All students are acquainted with the Roman Catholic tradition as well as broader belief systems. This program is designed for students who enter it with at least six months of experience as a working nurse. Students enjoy cheaper tuition and all courses are taught on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings in accelerated eight-week units. This courses in this program may be completed in as little as one calendar year, those this depends heavily on the number of courses the students requires to completed the core requirements.
