Hello, my name is Jenny Pierce and I am a 23-year-old from Indiana. After high school, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to go to college or not. After marrying my high school sweetheart, my husband, who was in the Army, was shipped to Iraq. A few days after he left, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. This was the turning point in my life. The only thing that mattered to me was to make sure my baby's life was the best it could be. I gave birth in February, and in September 2008, I decided to go back to school.

I attended Kaplan College in Indianapolis for my Massage Therapy degree. I knew I would have to get an education in order to support my little girl. The next May, I was finally done. I was so passionate about school that I wanted more! After roaming the halls of Kaplan College, I noticed several boards for Kaplan University. I knew I wanted to keep going to school because without an education, I could not support my child. I sent an inquiry, and the next thing I knew, I was starting! I loved every minute of it.

I am currently going for my Bachelor's of Health and Wellness online. I will be done in March 2012. When I am done, I will have a wide variety of career paths I can follow. Also, I would like to attend medical school afterward. I love helping people and making their health better and my online school gives me exactly what I need to do that. The teachers are wonderful, the schedule is relaxing and non-stressful, and the work is appropriate. I can go to class in my pajamas!

My “Scientific Foundations of Exercise and Fitness” professor, Heather Reiseck, is my favorite teacher. She is very understanding and there whenever I need her. The class is full of interesting information that I never knew before. Who thought there was so much to exercise and healthy living? I am now looking forward to supporting my daughter, not only with a massage therapy degree and career, but soon with my Bachelors also. I love that I am changing my life!
