Physician Assistant
Physician assistants provide therapeutic and diagnostic medical care under the supervision of a doctor. Individuals in this field may conduct basic exams of patients, record medical history, aid in diagnosing problems, treat minor injuries, and in most states, prescribe medication. A physician assistant is required to undergo formal schooling, usually lasting from two to four years, and pass both state and national certification exams. The median annual salary for a physician assistant is $74,980, and jobs in this field are expected to increase by 27 percent by the year 2016.
