Nursing
July 14, 2008
By Brian - Seattle, WA

Mountain State University provided me with knowledge and experience to be able to enter the world of nursing without feeling like I was inadequately prepared. Their hands on technique was an integral part of my developmental learning. The instructors had real world experience and you could tell they really enjoyed not just the knowledge transfer aspect but the discussing and debating issues which face real life practitioners. Mountain State U offered a wonderful campus atmosphere which seemed more "grown-up" than other campuses that I had visited. I was there to learn a skill-not to socialize and waste my money. As far as improving I would say that some of the buildings were dated-a couple of rooms had pungent odors being emitted from them, hard to overlook when you were in them for a couple of hours at a time. Whether this problem has been addressed or not I do not know but several of my colleagues had voiced their displeasure. All in all I would greatly recommend Mountain State University to anyone wanting to be able to enter the workplace smoothly.

I loved the location of the University. What an amazing campus. The staff and students are all very friendly. I felt as if I were at home. I didn't like the online courses they offered. I'd rather be in the classroom working. The online classes were hard to get to know your instructors and fellow students. I would log on and do my work as if I were just a number and not an individual. The residential courses did prepare me for my future. The instructors had a lot of experience in their fields and taught me real life situations. I already have had to use some of these situations. I am glad I went to Mountain State University.

Great program! What an excellent program, not only did I learn a lot and but I felt fully functional in the working world. And as soon as I graduated I quickly found a job with my new nursing degree!
