Overview
Founded in 1975, Technical Career Institute has been offering students high quality educations and career training resulting in diploma and Associate degrees. Based in the Miami area, the school emphasizes career training in some of today's most popular industries. Programs offered include Accounting Technology, Dental Assisting, Massage Therapy and Medical Office Administrating. Each program is designed to help students move from the classroom to the workforce as quickly as possible. Some programs can be completed in as few as two semesters.

This program trains students for a wide variety of careers in the field of Accounting. Students take courses which emphasize analysis, evaluation, statistical theory and design. The program is four semesters long, and it includes an internship. The program is designed to help students quickly move into entry-level jobs, as well as to help them move into supervisory roles. - Business Office AdministratorBusiness Office Administrator
The Business Office Administrator program prepares students to take on office management roles in companies of all sizes. Particular emphasis is placed on computer software applications, accounting, billing and interpersonal skills to enhance business communications and relationships. The program is four semesters long. - Computer and Networking TechnologyComputer and Networking Technology
This program prepares students with the necessary skills and knowledge to be hired into entry-level, training-related employment opportunities in the technology industry. Graduates can expect to find employments in areas including software and hardware support, help desk analysis, networking support, network security analysis and network administration. The Computer and Network Technology program also prepares students to sit for the CompTIA® A+, Network+ and Security+ certifications, as well as the Microsoft® Certified Systems Administrator(MCSA) certification. - Computer Software ApplicationsComputer Software Applications
This program provides students with in-depth knowledge and skills relating to software programs used in modern business settings. Students take courses which emphasize keyboarding/typing, as well as word processing and other software applications. The program is designed to make students competitive in the entry-level job market. - Computer Support TechnicianComputer Support Technician
In this program, students learn about software applications, databases, the Internet, operating systems, hardware and software support, and service and basic networking. Students train in and take courses in maintenance, hands-on repair and installation of computers and related equipment. The program is two semesters. - Dental AssistantDental Assistant
The Dental Assistant program trains students in a variety of dental office procedures and laboratory techniques. Some of these procedures and techniques include preliminary examination procedure, assisting at chair-side using four-handed dentistry, charting, appointment scheduling and keeping patient records. - Emergency Medical ServicesEmergency Medical Services
This program prepares students to be Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics. Students take courses which instruct them on how to save patients' lives and how to interact with other medical officials including emergency room staff. Prerequisites for taking the EMT-Paramedic examination include certification and one year longevity as a Florida EMT-Basic. - Hospitality Operations and ManagementHospitality Operations and Management
This program prepares students with skills and knowledge to apply for entry-level employment opportunities in the hospitality industry. Graduates can expect to be employed in roles including front desk associates, food and beverage management trainees, convention management assistants and an assortment of other positions hotels, motels, restaurants, inns and convention facilities. - Massage TherapyMassage Therapy
The Massage Therapy Program trains students in a variety of massage therapy practices and procedures. Graduates will be able to professionally interact with clients, massage colleagues, and the medical community using correct anatomical terminology. Graduates are also able to conduct a full body Swedish Massage using the techniques of Deep Tissue Massage, Neuro-Muscular Therapy, and other massage techniques. - Medical Assistant DiplomaMedical Assistant Diploma
This comprehensive diploma program is designed to quickly train students and to prepare them for the workforce as soon as possible. The program is two semesters long, and students take courses on topics general anatomy, vital signs, laboratory hematology and physician assistance. - Medical Assistant Occupational Associate DegreeMedical Assistant Occupational Associate Degree
This program is four semesters long and includes an internship. This comprehensive program instructs students how to communicate with patients and how to be a liaison between the physician and the patient. Graduates acquire skills including how to prepare patients for physical examinations, handle minor office procedures, keep medical records, prepare correspondence and manage the physician appointment schedule. - Medical Insurance SpecialistMedical Insurance Specialist
This program prepares students to take on entry-level work as Medical Insurance Specialists in a wide variety of environments not limited to physicians' offices, hospital billing departments, outpatient departments and insurance companies. The program is two semesters long. - Medical Office AdministratorMedical Office Administrator
This program trains students to become effective and knowledgeable Medical Office Administrators. The program places special emphasis on the importance of medical components and their care. Students take a variety of course s on topics including interpersonal development, personnel management, communications and more. The program is four semesters long and includes an internship. This program leads to an Associate of Science degree. - Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician
In this diploma program, students train to become Pharmacy Technicians and can expect to find employment in a variety of environments including pharmaceutical departments, commercial pharmacies, hospitals and medical clinics. The program trains students with both administrative and clinical skills they need to work as Pharmacy Technicians. Students learn how to interpret prescriptions, fill them, communicate with doctors and advise patients about medication interactions. - Phlebotomy TechnicianPhlebotomy Technician
Phlebotomy Technicians draw blood samples from patients or blood donors and prepares them to be medically tested. This program can be finished in just two semesters. Graduates can expect to find work in environments including private medical offices, health clinics, hospitals, blood banks and plasma centers.
