Overview
Offering vocational education since 1991, Summit Career College aims to provide short-term, high-quality career training programs to qualified students in the medical and business fields, enabling them to attain employment in entry-level positions. The institution currently has two campuses in California, at Anaheim and Colton.

Student Appeal
Summit Career College provides instruction in a professional, educational environment through the application of modern equipment, small class sizes, qualified industry experienced instructors, and teaching methodologies emphasizing individualized instruction and maximum retention. The programs are designed to impart the proficiency needed to perform in a chosen field of training in a short time frame.

Financial
The institution is authorized to administer Federal, Title IV grants and loans to qualified students, and offers financial aid programs for many of the vocational classes. Career counselors are available for additional information and assistance.

Programs Offered:

  • Accounting AssistantAccounting Assistant
    This program prepares students to be responsible for all aspects of bookkeeping in a small business or work under the supervision of an accountant in a larger firm. The courses feature transaction analysis, source document recognition, Quick Books applications, payroll records and procedures, and some mathematical theory.
  • Applied Computer Office AdministrationApplied Computer Office Administration
    Designed to provide basic knowledge and skills necessary to work in an entry-level business office support position, this program features both lecture and hands-on, practical lab format. Students will learn basic database theory, relational database creation and reporting, creating switchboards, customizing databases, formula writing, office procedures and protocols, and business communication. The curriculum builds on the skill gained in the Computerized Office Administration program with an additional 160 hours of externship at a business office.
  • Computer Office AdministrationComputer Office Administration
    This program introduces students to the fundamental knowledge and skills for entry-level business office support positions. The coursework include instruction in basic bookkeeping, transaction analysis, source document recognition, as well as the operation of business computer applications such as Quick Book, MS Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Dental AssistantDental Assistant
    With emphasis on back-office clinical skills and dental office management, this program prepares students for employment as a dental assistant. They receive training in receptionist duties, marketing, communication techniques, infection control in the dental office, oral cavity anatomy, tooth morphology, charting pathological conditions and existing dental work, in addition to a 160-hour, 4-week externship.
  • Legal Office AssistantLegal Office Assistant
    This program provides students with the training necessary to successfully perform the functions of an entry-level legal office assistant position in a legal office setting. The curriculum emphasizes basic office skills, along with advanced training in legal office protocols, procedures and law concepts. Students are instructed in legal research and forms commonly used in a legal office, client file and index file maintenance, court procedures, and legal ethics, while receiving exposures to a variety of law-related job opportunities.
  • Licensed Vocational NurseLicensed Vocational Nurse
    Students of this BVNPT-approved, accredited training program will gain the basic knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of a licensed vocational nurse in a health care environment. The courses offer the basic principles of Orem's Self-Care Model for Nursing, fundamentals in nursing skills and concepts of patient care, and the theoretical and clinical experience required to perform nursing functions in the fields of medical surgical nursing, obstetrical, pediatric, home health, emergency room and hospice care. The vocational development portion of this program provides students with leadership and management skills as a member of a health care team.
  • Medical Assistant - AdministrationMedical Assistant - Administration
    This program is designed to develop students' skills and knowledge to successfully perform the functions of an administrative medical assistant position in a doctor's office. The courses highlight front office skills, plus common terminology and procedural techniques used by medical secretaries, with additional education on the history of medicine, health care team members and their area of specialization, patient account management, and processing transactions.
  • Medical Assistant - Administration and ClinicalMedical Assistant - Administration and Clinical
    This program combines the administrative and clinical aspects of the medical assistant position for a comprehensive education, including a 160-hour, 4-week externship. Students gain the basic skills necessary to perform medical office bookkeeping and receive instruction in methods of scheduling appointments, correspondence, basic patient charting techniques and patient data collection, bandaging techniques, first aid, pediatric assistance, and basic laboratory procedures.
  • Medical Billing and CodingMedical Billing and Coding
    This program will benefit students seeking entry-level medical billing/coding assistant position in a medical or insurance office. The courses offer lectures and practical lab experiences on pertinent topics such as 10-key operations, entry-level hospital and physician billing, types of health insurance organizations and plans, procedural coding, ICD-9 and CPT codes in Medi-Soft, and UB-92 summary document.
