Southern Careers Institute is a career training school with 7 campuses throughout Texas. The school focuses on providing students with programs which are directly relevant to the real world. Some of these programs include Administrative Assistant, Medical Assistant and Pharmacy Technician programs.

  • Business Accounting SpecialistBusiness Accounting Specialist
    This program is intended for students who are interested in the operational side of business management. Students learn skills including how to "keep the books" so that the companies they are employed with remain economically healthy. Students take courses in topics including fundamental accounting principles and computerized accounting systems.
  • CosmetologyCosmetology
    Students learn skills in hair cutting, styling, and coloring, along with manicures, pedicures, and skin and makeup techniques. Graduates may become hairstylists, estheticians, makeup artists, nail technicians, and salon managers.
  • Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
    This program is designed for students who wish to work in medical front offices and back offices. Students take courses in areas including computer applications, office procedures, business communication skills and job readiness techniques.
  • Medical Insurance Coding SpecialistMedical Insurance Coding Specialist
    Students learn basic medical terminology, coding and indexing, analyzing, and processing medical data.
  • Medical Office SpecialistMedical Office Specialist
    This program instructs students about topics including medical office duties, computer applications, office procedures, business communication skills and job readiness techniques. Graduates can look forward to employment as medical front office specialists, administrative assistants or secretaries, general typists, word processors and more.
  • Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician
    The Pharmacy Technician program permits students to take courses in pharmacy operations and procedures, computer applications, job readiness techniques, personal development skills and basic pharmacology skills. Graduates can look forward to employment in retail pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, drug-related companies and more.
