Overview
National Institute of Technology was founded in 1966 as a member of United Electronics Institutes. Since 1992, the school has greatly diversified its program offerings and now offers a range of career-focused programs including Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Dental Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding. In addition to the school's diploma programs, National Institute of Technology now offers associate degree programs in Medical Business and Client Specialist, Computer Information Services and Computer Technology. The school is located in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

    In this associate degree program, students take a variety of course related to business and marketing including employee relations, accounting and record keeping, organization behavior, and essential computer applications. General education courses are also emphasized. Upon graduation, students are able to seek out entry-level positions in management and administration. The Associate Degree in Business Administration typically requires 15 months to complete.
  • Computer Information ServicesComputer Information Services
    This program offers lots of hands-on training and experience in the areas of hardware, networking and basic programming. The program is geared toward students who enjoy working with computers, but students do not have to have any prior experience or knowledge about programming or hardware. Both associate degrees and diplomas are offered.
  • Criminal Justice (Diploma & Degree)Criminal Justice (Diploma & Degree)
    This program offers students the necessary knowledge and skills they need to manage the current needs, criminal aspects, and societal issues associated with the public and private sector. Students take a range of courses on topics including computer technologies, victimology, communication techniques, and multicultural/juvenile issues. Possible job titles related to this degree include Fraud Investigator, Transportation Security Screener, Correctional Program Specialist and more.
  • Dental AssistantDental Assistant
    The Dental Assistant program is a Diploma Degree, while the Dental Assisting program is an associate degree. The Dental Assistant Diploma program trains students to become important parts of a dental team. Dental Assistants help dentists with a number of procedures including preliminary examinations, performing four-handed and six-handed dentistry, sterilization and infection control, patient comfort, maintaining inventory and more. Training in administrative duties is also provided. Dental Assistants work under the supervision of licensed dentists.
  • Dental Assisting DegreeDental Assisting Degree
    The Dental Assisting Degree is an associate degree, and while similar to the Dental Assistant diploma, this program provides students with even more in-depth training. Students learn to assists dentists with procedures such as pouring of models, fabricating custom trays such as mouth guards, cleaning teeth and performing dental restorations. Curriculum includes courses in administrative skills as well.
  • Electronics and Computer TechnologyElectronics and Computer Technology
    The Electronics and Computer Technology program is designed for students who enjoy working for technology and who enjoy working with their hands. Students acquire the skills and knowledge they need to work in the Computer Technology industry and no former education in the areas is needed. This program is able to be completed in just over one year, and its completion results in an Associate of Applied Science degree.
  • Medical AssistingMedical Assisting
    The Associate of Applied Business in Medical Assisting provides graduates with the skills and knowledge required for working in entry-level medical positions. Students take courses on topics including front office records management, medical insurance billing and coding, transcription, patient records, and clinical skills relating to direct patient care.
  • Medical Billing and CodingMedical Billing and Coding
    Critical positions in busy medical environments are in need of those who have Medical Billing and Coding training. They are responsible for collecting patient information, submitting insurance forms, ensuring invoices are sent and paid, abstracting or indexing, diagnostic and procedural coding, and following up on claims. Upon graduation, students are able to look for employment in environments like hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices, laboratories and more.
  • Medical Office TechnologyMedical Office Technology
    The Medical Office Technology program can be completed in just over 60 weeks, and it results in an Associate in Applied Business degree. The program prepares students for entry-level jobs in the healthcare industry. Graduates receive training on topics including front office skills, touch-typing, word processing, medical record keeping, medical software applications and the process of medical transcription. Students also take general education courses.
