Overview
National Career Education provides convenient, small classes to working adults and recent graduates seeking entry level and advanced career opportunities in Health Care and Health Care Office Administration fields. The Citrus Heights campus is located outside of Sacramento, CA in an accessible modern facility.
Student Appeal
Qualified professional instructors provide career training, but additional support is available to students through Guidance and Advising staff, tutoring, and student employment. Advisors handle vocational and academic questions and are capable of referring questions regarding personal issues to the appropriate agencies. All faculty and staff are focused on the success of each student and aim to ensure that every student graduates.
Financial
Financial Aid is available for qualified students and all financial questions can be answered by NCE representatives or otherwise directed to the appropriate department. National Career Education is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT). NCE is a branch of Institute of Business and Technology.

- Lab Assistant/EKG Tech/PhlebotomistLab Assistant/EKG Tech/Phlebotomist
Learn laboratory skills and procedures in hematology, bacteriology, urinalysis, electrocardiography, phlebotomy, and vital signs to find entry-level employment as an EKG Technician, Lab Assistant, or Phlebotomist. Additionally, graduates receive CPR training and communication skill enhancement through externship opportunities. - Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
Prepare for a career assisting physicians with examinations, performing basic lab procedures, recording, monitoring, and mounting EKGs, along with front office administrative duties in bookkeeping, record management, and appointment scheduling. Graduates will be prepared to pursue certification via California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or American Medical Technologist (AMT) exams. Externships are available through program curriculum. - Optical/Optometric AssistantOptical/Optometric Assistant
Gain skills in testing patients for visual acuity, depth perception, and color blindness, using precision optical instruments, frame selection, visual analysis, fitting techniques for glasses and contacts, and common eye disorders. Graduates are prepared for national licensure exams and typically pursue careers as Optical Assistants, Optometric Assistants, Optical Laboratory Technicians, and Optical Sales Reps. The program includes hands-on training and an externship in a medical or retail optical facility. - Pharmacy TechnicianPharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician program is an 8-month diploma program designed to prepare students to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification test and ultimately work in pharmacies in hospitals, drug stores, and supermarkets.
