American Institute of Alternative Medicine

Overview
Founded in 1994 as Massage Away, Inc. School of Therapy, American Institute of Alternative Medicine is located in Columbus, Ohio and offers career training in alternative medicine programs. The Licensed Massage Therapy program opened with 14 students and has since graduated over 700 students, with approximately 200 students currently enrolled in the basic program. The school offers programs in Chinese Massage Therapy, Western Massage Therapy and a Professional Master's Level Acupuncture program.

Student Appeal
Student services include academic advising, alternative medicine services, book store, counseling, and job-placement assistance. Tutoring is also available to aid students in academic advancement and provide individual attention.

Financial
Financial aid is available for those who qualify. American Institute of Alternative Medicine is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).

• Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program*Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program*
  The curriculum in this program is designed to prepare graduates to be competent qualified practitioners of acupuncture. The Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program of the American Institute of Alternative Medicine is the equivalent of a master's level program and is an ACAOM candidate program. Graduates are prepared for entry-level careers as an Acupuncturist, Diplomate of Acupuncture (NCCAOM). Due to the advanced academic demands of this curriculum, students must have previous educational credits of at least an associate's degree and/or 60 semester or 90 quarter credits at the baccalaureate level.

*Students must have at least Some College (2+ years) of educational experience to enroll in the Professional Master's Level Acupuncture Program.
