The anesthesia technology program at SBC Houston is very well designed and the instructors are very well knowledgeable instructors on the subject of anesthesia technology. we had several field trips during the year to get us prepared to the environment of the OR and that has made it easy for me to transition to my extership. by the time I finish this program I will have sited five diffrent hospital all in the Texas medical Center and have been assigned with excellent preceptors in the anesthesia department.
I would like to all add that the school has invested a lot of money in equipment for the hands on that they advertise this program to give you. The program is 18 months long and I will have an associates degree from this college. All the clinical sites have been impressed with my knowledge and able to go in and start working as one of their own technicians from day one. I am part of the Anesthesia Care Team. a very important role that I feel we play as anesthesi atechnicians. I will graduates in March 2010. i know that I will be able to work as an anesthesia technician.
Great Job SBC Houston Texas this goes to the dedication the Program director of this program put into this program.

This school brings you in telling you that you can go on to any program you want. However, once you get there they tell you that you have to go through 2 other programs before you can do what you want.
The teachers make you come in and then they waste your time by talking about their personal lifes. Give you long breaks and let you cheat on your tests. You do not learn anything and in the end it ends up costing you. This school is not on Wisconsin acret. list no hospitals will even hire you if they see that you use this school as your degree. So my advice to you is do not waste your time or money. Stay away!

I am a graduate of SBC located in Kansas City, MO. They have recently changed their name to Colorado Technical University. New name, same lies and deception. Upon starting this program everything seems fine, but as time goes on you begin to notice this school is all about money and that's it. They try to push you into programs that you can only build on if you attend the school later in your career. They'll also tell you your credits transfer to most other schools. Students were allowed cheat on course work for many 10 week blocks.
Administration and instructors were informed of this but waited until the students had invested much more money, then kicked them out. Our instructors kept leaving as the 16 months went by. By the end over half had come and gone. Most were very good but said they didn't agree with or stand for what was going there. To make things worse, my credits won't transfer to other colleges. At a recent interview, with a major hospital, the manager asked how I liked my education. She then said, "You know, I don't hire people from that program." I managed to get the job, ONLY because of the staff and doctor's refrences at that hospital. I can honestly say, there are few things in life I regret but this is the biggest. It's been a black cloud over my head since the day of graduation. If it were me again, I would not attend this college.

A few months ago I contacted this school because I am interested in ultrasound. I was told that there were not any vacant spots for the January start, but they had an August start. The representative did try and talk to me about other programs they offer. I did not find this wrong because I have spoke with other schools about this same progam and they are full as well and offered me other degree options. I am encouraged that Sanford-Brown has a waiting list... It speaks high volumes for their program. I am on the list for August.

I contacted them with questions and all I got was a "hard sell"!. The people who do contact you will be salespeople acting like they are on commisson. One called me at a very bad time and I told her that I couldn't talk and hung up. She sent me an e-mail that said her school was for people with "class" and that I wouldn't fit in.

I reside in Illinois at the moment. Recently I had came across an advertisement concerning Radiology. Being interested in the program, I contacted SBC in Collinsville, Illinois to ask for information. Least to say, I couldnt even get a straight forward answer if the Radiology Program existed at the particular college. The clerk at the other end of the line was persistent and adamant on my giving her all sorts of information, and she stated that I had to get that information from their admissions. I even emailed them and got the run around. Good Grief!!!
Just that bad experience alone(of not giving me a straight forward answer of yes or no) had changed my mind of attending their college! Matter of fact I had to contact one of their schools in St. Louis before I could even get a straight forward answer! And even then I had to explain the run around I was getting from their Illinois college. I must say that experience alone changed my mind from attending their college. And am going to inform friends of the bad experience. Im sure they will feel the same way!
