I currently attend the medical billing and coding program as NTI and was sold on the basis of lies. I currently hold a decent full time job which requires me to work overtime. I choose NTI over going to a community college because they promised the same benefits to at home students as classroom students.
I recently received e-mail from the current instructor(as NTI just had a major staff change) stating externships would only be considered to in class students.
Also with the good 7 grand I dished out I was told books were provided. I just started coding one and the book is expected returned back and is out of date coding book from 2008. I was told by the "instructor" which by the way is a middle aged women with no background in the field other then the training she got at NTI, they hired her right before the staff switch, informed me they did not expect such an increase in students. Please draw your own conclusions. The only thing I'm going to get out of this school is 7000 dollar piece of paper saying i completed a program with no real academic value. I admit it I was stupid. If you are looking for an education NTI is not the answer.
I went to NTI to become a medical assistant. I visited another school in Sanford but my friend did not have a very good experience there. Mostly I didn't feel pressured and they were very helpful during admissions. The teachers were very friendly and helpful and I was able to do some of the classes from home. My clinical class was great and I made some good friends. Overall I really liked the classes a lot, I learned a lot and I got a really good externship.
Not five stars because I don't think anyplace is perfect and there were a couple things that could have been better (longer break for lunch!) and it was a lot of work. But I guess it is supposed to be a lot of work.
Would definitely recommend to someone who doesn't want to go to a college and just wants to get through and go to work.
I would like to say what anb amazing education I received and how helpful the staff was. H, T, S and N were very helpful. I also loved the guest speakers who came in and spoke to us. Nti has prepared me for a great future
Completed their Clinical Medical Assistant program in less than 7 months. Great approach to learning with lots of flexibility and hand-holding. Labs are great with no more than 10 students in class. School has excellent externship and job placement support. Heading out for a job interview tomorrow. Great experience.
I recently graduated from the PHL/EKG program at NTI. I enrolled on the recommendation from a friend that had gone the previous year. I was happy with the course training, materials and placement assistance. I am now working in a local lab and couldn't be happier with my career choice.
