Ms. Gonzales, I am currently enrolled, and as far as the classes they are no different than any online classes. I've had no problem getting any help needed either via email or by phone. This program works well for me as I work full time nights and can take the classes on my schedule. The clinical part can be a little bit of a pain, but I found a site no problem, and am doing well. To say this is the same as buying the books you need and studying on your own, shows a lack of understanding about online programs. They are for self starters and won't work well for someone who needs their hand held. I have met many RRTs that have gone through the program or know someone who has. I am satisfied, but like everything in life it is not a one size fits all deal.

I completed the certificate program for Respiratory Therapy in 1991 through CCHS, now called IU. The monthly payments were very affordable, and I got my clinical hours completed at the hospital I was working at as a student (Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas). I got paid while I was completing my clinical hours, and continued to work as an RCP I, then RCP II at the same hospital. I was able to get phone support when I was studying for my finals. I spent a lot of time on the phone getting questions answered, so the support was definitely there. I would not have gotten credentialed if it were not for CCHS. My written final was proctored by the priest at the hospital where I worked, and the college sent a therapist to check me off on all of the modalities, which I passed the first time.I was really sweating, really nervous, but I passed no problems. I recommend this school.

This college has no log in classes, nothing but books and emails. It requires that you find a place to do your clinical rotations and that is difficult with all the liabilities involved. Basically, in this program it's like going to the book store purchasing all the books you need and then teaching yourself all you can from the books.
