I have worked in higher education and admissions for nearly 5 years now, and the Anthem Education group is a nightmare. I was employed at the "Milwaukee" (Brookfield) Location some time ago. Notice that they are Admission REPRESENTATIVES, not Admission Counselor or Advisors. They do not care about students.
Everything is about numbers. Numbers numbers numbers. Same call script every time. Why do we need to ask you if you're married/single have kids? That is NOT okay to ask someone looking into school. It has nothing to do with your educational ability. The requirement to get in is determined by "Wonderlic" assesments. The requirement is only an 8!! If you go through and mark every question as "C"... you will get in. They meet in "huddles" 3 times a day to talk about NUMBERS... making sure that they hit their numbers. The turnover is unbelieveable.
They are NATIONALLY accredited. Google this to see what that means. All of the UW schools, Marquette, Carthage e.t.c, are REGIONALLY accredited. National accreditation is a joke. What is their student placement rate on externships and graduate placement in the job field? If they tell you they are "mandated" to have 70% or higher to keep accreditation, it's because they are -- but they don't hit it. They are constantly off and on probation with the accrediting body. The surgical tech program is a nightmare. From what I know, they aren't even enrolling for it because they are SO far behind on placing externs. If you do happen to get in for surg tech, watch out. There is a reason everyone is writing negative things. There may be a FEW negative things here and there with different schools, but when you google "Athem Education Group".. google automatically finishes your search with "Scam"... that should show you something!! PLEASE RESPOND WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE... I WILL GLADLY TALK TO YOU ABOUT POLICIES AND QUESTIONS AT THIS PLACE!!!Pharmacy technician program

This program was HORRIBLE!!! When I toured the school it looked so legit. The classrooms were nice and had medicne bottles and things like we would be practicing with them. On my first day I was handed a packet of papers and told to complete them.? So the students helped me NOT the teacher.? Our text books did not match the teachers curriculum so we had to use the internet to do our work but could not bring our laptops to school or use them in class.? We were in between teachers and there was an ad online our school specifically hiring for teachers.?
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many students droped out and Sooooooooooooooooooo many who graduated could not find jobs because of the schools horrible reputation especially in the pharmacy program! I Unfortunately quit because of the bull****. We didnt have a teacher for so long and I didnt want to get out there and kill somebody! When they finally hired a teacher she could'nt teach a student would explain things better than her.? PLEASE DONT GO TO THIS SCHOOL PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!! ****THIS IS A WARNING FROM GOD DONT GO HERE IT A SCAM******* They lied to me. I wish I would have seen this when I was applying :(

I started this school in July of 2009 for surgical tech..and it has been bullshit since I started. First, when i enrolled the woman told me extern was only a few weeks and they already have a site lined out for you before you do your final...WRONG.. extern is 8 wks and they are behind 2 months at our school. (one of my friends finished and has been waiting for 2 months.) Then our teacher quit and we have the same teacher doing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th session. Not that the old teacher was any help..she was late EVERY day and spent the other half on her phone or talking to the other teachers. Now our new one has too much going on that she doesnt even know what we are supposed to be doing half of the time...HOW DOES THIS SCHOOL EVEN KEEP RUNNING? They idea of education is very distorted.

Well heres my stupidity. i went on august of last year to the orlando campus. and i went to see the school and everything was painted to me in a beautiful portrait. when finally my first day got there, all i was given is a pack of paper and the instructions were read it and answer the questions. well thru the whole 3.5 hrs i spend there the teacher didnt even say a word. I went to see the rep and told her that this has to change, well we got a new teacher, hes very awsome person and i have no complains about him. BUT DANG, we read this review and it got me searching, later to find out we dont need any of these stupid classes or even an extership. we could prepare our selves to take the basic operator license. so my suggestion is KEEP UR MONEY AND RESEARCH THE STUPID SCHOOL!!!! I would love to write more but im getting supper angry for me throwing so much money away. by the way i decided to get out and stop wasting my gas, even after being so close to finishing. THATS HOW BAD IT IS!!!!!

This school is a scam! all they want is your money! i graduated from the surgical tech program not too long ago, and have been having difficulties ever since... I am now looking for my own externship to finish my remaining hours, and to be frank with you, this school gives such a bad impressions to the majority of the hospitals all around the country that the minute they hear "Hi-TECH"!!?? yeah..that pretty much sums it up.
For those of you who are too late or too far into this program, i would say... DO NOT SIGN THE TERM STATUS PAPER!!!!! What that does is give hi-tech rights to put you on the backburner for externships... believe me... it is how they get you to waive your rights so that you can't use them in legal matters! They will find a way to make you think that its just a standard procedure. But don't sign it until you have a lawyer look at it and explain it to you what it really is.

Although I can say I have learned a lot at the school and I do enjoy the hands on environment, do NOT go to this school. Save your money. The management could care less about the students or teachers, all they care about is making money. The administration will fill your head with lies that make their program sound great, but be warned, it is not. Financial aid is useless and you end up with thousands in student loans. I have seen several AMAZING teachers leave because the management use and abuse the teachers and they do not agree with changes that the management are making. The teachers that are left are worn down and because of that their rude and could care less about the students. I have also seen several students who have finished school but come back to class on our lab days to get a "refresher" on their lab skills because they have been out of school so long and can not get a job. Also a few classmates and I have been looking for a place to do our externship and after calling hospitals and speaking to several HR departments we discovered there are two hospitals in Dallas that will NOT accept people who went to school at High Tech. Period. Not for extern and not after you graduate. I wish I would have known all of this before I threw away $13,000 of my money. Please, please take this advice seriously. Go to a real school.

In Aug 2008, I started to attend High Tech Institute for surgical tech. The faculty were just people behind the curtain, just trying to make sure people don't drop out. There main focus is to make sure the student loans go through. They have a high student turn over, due to the fact that the facility is unorganized, staff brings in personal information about their own life to kill time on their cell phone. Students are not allowed on cell phones in the classroom. They ran out of places for potential clinical sites, due to the fact that their students were not properly taught. I don't even know anyone who has graduated, all I know is a lot of students have been cheated by this school in many ways. The school was strict due to the fact that a lot of students were diappointed due to the poor teaching and high turn over of staff. BAD NEWS! This is the WORST "school" and the most wasteful amount of time and money I have ever experienced. I am in Georgia now and they are no longer in business down here due to negligence and bad service to their students.

wow !!! I GRADUATED FROM XRAY TECHNCIAN PROGRAMM 2006.) what a bunch of lies. i graduated from this so called college in 2006. I like so may other students were lied to. I had a instructor who gave students answers to exams, too many different insrtuctors, no one knew what to teach right. passing rate of 40% for state boards, no review classes. The director at the time was a real unprofessional person, seemd like $$$$ is all the college was about. godd luck on trying to get credits transfered:) this collge is a sorry excuse for a college, a night mare!!!!!
Do NOT waste your time or money!!

I attended HTI back in the Sring of '05. Judging by the caliber of my classmates it became very apparent that there were only 2 qualifications one needed to get accepted: a pulse and the ability to pay. Needless to say if I required a surgical procedure I would not have wanted any of these people within 100 miles of the OR.
The didactic portion of the program was a joke. It was basically a series of instructions from a manual with very little clinical insight. The labs were mainly taught by students who had been there at least 6 months and there was no method to their madness. Any instruction by the instructors was geared towards those students about to graduate who needed to have their "cases" signed off. I could only take it for 2 1/2 months and quit. I was not going to subject myself to this low level of education and pay over $19k in tuition and fees.
I later went on and finished a scrub tech program at a CAAHEP accredited junior college with an A.A.S. degree for 1/4 of the cost. I'm sure by now the tuition is much higher, but I'm sure the methodology has not changed.
RUN, do not walk away from a HTI campus.

I will agree with the others that gave bad feedback. I was told many things and many of those were not true but rather LIES. Now i am left with student loans, and if it weren't for the ARMY, I would be SOL on a good job. GO TO A REAL SCHOOL; ITS WORTH IT. They whiz by courses fast. Its like a sweat shop. No attention to academics at all, other than if you fail.

I took the course in 99'. I was told that I would make $35-45,00 a year with my new skills. I was NOT told that I would only be a basic machine operator in x-ray, and that I could only get jobs that paid between $8-10 an hour; I was lucky I could get those jobs because no one wanted to hire me because I was a basic machine operator.
Long story short, I had a $12,000+ student loan , made 2/3 less than my previous job and could NOT afford to pay back my student loan. I had to go back to my job before school just to make a decent income, and if you don't pay on your loan, the interest will overwhelm you and you will never get it paid off. I was lucky I was able to pay it off or my wages would have been garnished!
High Tech is a big rip off! if you notice now on their site, it says X-ray, but limited scope. It didn't mention limited scope in 99' nor were we told that in-person by the school. I bet someone sued them and that's why they had to change the x-ray course description!

I attended High-Tech Institute aka Banner College in 2006 for surgical tech. It was the most horrible experience I have ever encountered at a college. I would not advise anyone that wishes to seek a higher education to attend this institution. The reason being is that school is not organized with the lessons to be taught to the students. The lessons taught in class does not relate to the clinical labs. The instructors are not educated thoroughly in the surgical field, and the instructors bring their personal issues to the classrooms that interfere with the learning environment of the students, and in some cases their is not instructor to teach the class when the students arrive for class. I had to switch to another class in the school that I really did not like because I could not receive a refund on my money and I did not want to just give it to them, when actually I really did because I did not utilize the skill of the class I switched to. Don't waste your time with this school, please !!!!!!!!

I and several of my friends are about to finish the class portion of the programs and after been at this school for a year in a half I can say it has been one of the worst experiences. Just yesterday one of the teachers broke down, she and the rest of my class went from room to room just trying to find a place to hold class. The teacher over this course is awful and everyone has brought this to the attention of the chancelor of command she is still there, but then again she is the only one who is still there, all of the managers have quit and we have no sites to do our clinical. We are not prepare if when we do so the sites that we have we loose. But rest assured there are going the take from your grade for attendances, and the campus pres. walks around making sure that you are in uniform but there is no paper for us to take our test. The teacher and student our on the phone during class, to complain does no good. This is just a start to the problems that go on at our school. And since student are now driving in from school in other states that have closed down I don't think that the this school will be around very much longer

This school is really convenient as far as location and hours. The teachers are knowledgeable and the classes are challenging. I did not like that it was so much money, but it was worth it because I was able to find a job. I think it prepared me for my career.

I liked the the free-form courses: I could take what I needed to without worrying about pre-requisites. It helped me complete my training while working. I thought the classes were a bit hard, but it prepared me for my future. I currently work in a doctor's office handling the billing.

The online experience at American Intercontinental University was an awarding learning journey that bolsters the pursuit of excellence. At American Intercontinental University it was easy to enroll and to obtain financing. American Intercontinental University provided excellent service by assigning advisors to assist with enrollment, financing, and career counseling.
The online experience at American Intercontinental University also provided an open forum not just in the classroom discussion board but in the option to join associations. If a student is interesting in meeting fellow interested college students that enjoys entertainment or other subjects, a community is for them at American Intercontinental University to start and sustain a lasting friendship.
The experience at American Intercontinental University provided a wonderful opportunity for achieving the goals set forth in obtaining my associate degree in Business Administration. The commitment at the online university is ensuring that class studies are learned by providing exceptional tools. For instance, the online learning tools consisted of multi-media section that provides class material presentations and test questions. I benefited greatly with American Intercontinental University due to its commitment to providing easy friendly atmosphere for an online place to learn while obtaining a higher degree.
