I chose to pursue a career in the healthcare field after suffering a debilitating on the job injury.
I chose massage after carefully studying the State statistics to make sure that it would be a viable career in terms of growth and pay.
I would warn future students considering an education at Cortiva because the teachers will look down their nose at you constantly. Their grades are based on whims. Their attitude tends to be holier than thou, very arrogant, elitist and passive-aggressive. If you are used to dealing with these types of frustration you should be able to turn a blind eye to the abuses, but be warned. The faculty are not very evolved or as high minded as they would have you believe. It is a very challenging program because so much of it is based in snobbery.

The best thing about Cortiva Institute is its well trained and knowledgeable faculty. The instructors are not just teachers, they are also leading professionals in their fields. This give them a unique perspective to be able to teach the academic fundamentals required to be a massage therapist and also give examples of real world experiences. It was very comforting to know that what they were teaching was teaching us what we could really expect once we started our careers. I believe the knowledge they imparted gave me a leg up on the competition and allowed me to find a job and advance faster than others without an equivalent educational background. The one thing I would change about Cortiva is there placement program. The people working there were very nice and professional but the same job leads they were providing were readily available on the web and through newspaper. I believe they should better leverage the faculties contacts to get more inside information on available jobs. Overall all I had a great experience at the Cortiva Institute.

I have always used spas but never quite knew how someone became qualified to work at one. Having appreciated Biology in school I did understand that the muscles of the body work closely together and are intimately related to a person's health. I wanted to explore the field of massage therapy so I enrolled here in Philadelphia in Cortiva Institude. The classes were full of hands on exercises and I spent less time in the books and more time learning the art of massage therapy. The tuition was very affordable and now that I have a degree I have a full range of spas and day resorts to work at in the greater Philadelphia area. Without having to spend too much money on education, Cortiva Institute opened up a world of job possibilities. However, working mostly in the day, I only wish there were a greater number of night classes that would have allowed for my schooling to be even more convenient. Cortiva, however, always provided me the support as I juggled both work and school.
