I went to the North Richland Hills, TX. The teachers were okay. My problem lies with the loans. I have paid all my loans from them and what happens 8 yrs later. I get bill from them saying I own them money. I am so upset that they would do this to people. I only got one letter and it is already into collections.

I am reading up on this and they can not do this to me. I have never gotten job or finish the school because I moved and cancel. I even went up there and told them I was not happy and was canceling going to school there. They have no right to bill me almost 8 yrs later.

The entire school is a ripoff and lie. When you have to take the same class 3 times because they keep misplacing sign in sheets. Or teachers and counselors are leaving and no one knows your grade for the class. Got tired of apologies, and lies. I was lied to from the beginning. Now we are making sure it wont happen to anyone else. And they cant say that im just complaining cause I wasnt doing well. I stopped going to ati with a 3.75 gpa. I was tired of losing money from work to attend a lie.

education here is a joke

I went to North Richland Hills campus to take the medical assistant course. the counselors will tell you that you will be trained on state of the art machines. the centerfuge was not state of the art. the centerfuge was older then dirt and half of the time 1 or the other stayed broken down.

you get lab twice a week all through your 9 month curriculum just to learn to draw blood, give shots, and do vital signs.

you get computer lab time which is also a joke. you will spend most of your time learning to type in this class. the method that they use is to let the software teach you to type and the teacher is there to basically to baby sit you. I have learned to type 50 wpm back 16 years ago with out looking at the keyboard. I have seen a lot of my classmates only get up to 20wpm and they still have to look at the keyboard.

in this day in time you know you will be using a computer in a medical office using some kind of medical software to schedule appointment, add new patients, and a pull up their current insurance. you will not get any training like this on a computer at ATI. most medical offices would like you to have some knowledge in the medical software they are using. however, ATI will teach you the basics on balancing the checkbook, how to write up a deposit, and how to add and subtract. you will be strongly taught on HIPPA and OSHA rules and regulations. you will not learn much billing & coding. Will not learn enough to pass the billing and coding certification.

There are 2 teachers at the school that should not be in the same room. ATI slam together a new group of people and the senior group in lab it made the class big and even though we had 2 teachers in lab they were too busy playing buddy buddy with students, one would not stay off the internet, everytime 1 of the senior would request for 1 of the teachers to stand with us so we can get our check off done. she would run back and assist the other teacher with the new students. this particular teacher would make a comment to the other teacher " that this was your class I am staying out of it" and she would go sit down and play with the internet. I did not come to lab during the semester.

I did not see any point to do so. I heard from my classmates they did not have lab they were watching a movie one day then they went on a field trip to the mall on another day. Most of my classmates did not have their check off done, there is no way that 5 of my classmates got most of the check off done in 2 days with out forging most of it.

my externship was a joke. the first 2 days when I was at my externship the lead M.A. Had a problem with me, my externship was is in the middle of a hispanic community that did not speak any english, I told the person who placed me here needed to place me some where else someone needed to be bilingual. she took it as that I didn't want to get alone with anybody and told me to give it about 2 weeks. 2 weeks of wasted time and starting over at a different externship site would mess me up In getting things done by my graduation date. so I stayed at my site. the only thing I did at my site where to take vital signs, weight, and to take them to a room. I could not take any chief complaints, I did not speak spanish, they did not speak english, I had 1 patient that got mad because I didn't speak spanish. I did no shots, I did no blood draws, I did 1 urine test, I did one D.O.T. Test.

I worked some front office, I did no back office. I mostly pulled old files. All the time I was there. I had a check off that had to be done and they basicly checked everything rather I did it or not. I was basicly sick of this bull. I surely did not want to stay at my externship site any longer than I had to. I was not learning anything or being corrected on anything, because my externship site did not have me there for that. it was clear that I was there to clean up on loose ends ATI claims they have people that goes in and check on the sites. clearly nobody checked on mine.

GRADUATED....BUT A RIP OFF

OK, true enough SOME of the teacher did their job, and some just didn't. But I got ripped of by the school, and to this day, they still haven't done anything to fix my problems./p>

My tuition is supposed to be $16,700...instead mine just so happens to be $25,924. I was supposed to be receiving my refund check and still have not. They made me increase my loans by $2,500, so I could get a refund, and they never disbursed it to me, even though it was credited to my account. Then Made me increase it by $1,800, and I never received that. They wont make the adjustments, and everyone and every time i get everyone involved they all "get fired"... so that's my story of ATI in Houston, TX...Oh yea, I still haven't received my certificate after 3 months.

Anyways, In Houston, TWC fined them for falsifying employment rates, and not following through with their promises to students. So enrollment has been shut down, and they are having to refund students or pay for their education. reality sucks.
