Firstly, for anybody who is interested in this course, know in advance that it is for FRONT OFFICE medical assisting, not back office. Through the course you will learn some back office procedures, but because this is not a hands on course, you only are able to really get the "feel" of the front office part of medical assisting (even though they do not state it until you receive the course materials). You also get a feel of medical billing and coding specialization too. I started the program last month, and so far aside from what was just said, I REALLY like it. The course material is not too easy, and not too tricky, it is set up so it is easy and enjoyable to read, and is just all around set up very well. It is most definitely only for people who have the willpower and determination to teach themselves, as you can't get instruction from a teacher all the time. The Ashworth forum REALLY helps in this situation if you need help. So far I have had more success getting my questions answered there quicker than emailing the college themselves. Overall, distance education from them has its pros and cons, but I totally would recommend this college to anybody who wants to get into distance education. I love Ashworth so far =]

I like how they have their material setup for the technician courses but like the others have stated there isnt any interaction between the students and the staff members. I guess its a good thing i can teach myself and it has also helped that i work with professors that can hlep me out but still, for the money they want from you they should be able to help you along and thus far they havent. I have gone through almost the entire thing w/o any hlep from the staff

I was a little disappointed in the professor interaction because there was none. I remember calling to ask a question and I never got the answer to my question, and the staff could never put me through to my professor.
The material was for the most part well written, but there were some mistakes in the material written.
I have yet to receive my diploma, although, I just finished paying for the course, but I guess I will have to call and ask where my diploma is.
