Ph.D. EducationPh.D. Education The Chapman University School of Education's (SOE) Ph.D. program is for students who want a career in higher education or in other research-oriented leadership fields. The program focuses on the formulation of new ways to think about issues and solve problems in the field of education. Students in this program can choose from three different focuses: Cultural and Curricular Studies, Disability Studies and School Psychology.
MA School CounselingMA School Counseling The MA in School Counseling program leads to both the PPSC credential and the MA in Counseling. Students with a prior Master of Arts degree in a related field may earn the PPSC credential without the master's degree. The PPSC credential authorizes the holder to serve as school counselor in California grades K-12. School counselors perform a variety of duties including personal counseling, career counseling, academic advisement, and consultation with teachers and parents. After completion of required course work, students are expected to complete 600 hours of internship.
MA EducationMA Education The goal of the MAE program is the development of knowledgeable, thoughtful and ethical educator/citizens committed to the universal values of democracy, care and justice. The program is designed for individuals seeking a career or advancement opportunities in education as a teacher or administrator. All students complete one of three concentrations: Curriculum and Instruction, Reading Education and Educational Administration.
MA TeachingMA Teaching Students earning an MA in Teaching may choose between elementary and secondary education. Students can earn the teaching credential in this program at the same time they earn the MA.
MA Special EducationMA Special Education Chapman offers numerous program options, along with a dedicated faculty and staff whose mission is to help students become leaders in whichever field of special education they choose to specialize in. Chapman offers Special Education teaching credentials in the Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe areas.
Ed.S. School PsychologyEd.S. School Psychology The School Psychology Program is fully accredited by the National Association of School Psychologists. Chapman University's program is the only School Psychology program at a private university in California to be approved by NASP. Graduates are automatically eligible to become a nationally certified school psychologist (NCSP), pending documentation of an internship consistent with NASP standards and attainment of a passing score on the national school psychology (PRAXIS II) examination.
Teaching CredentialTeaching Credential Chapman offers several different types of teaching credentials which must be earned before teaching in California public schools. In California, the correct credential to teach a special subject in a classroom, such as Math or English at the middle school or high school level, is the Single Subject Teaching Credential. Multiple-Subject credentials are offered for students who wish to teach in high schools.

MA Film StudiesMA Film Studies Students in the MA Film Studies program follow a liberal arts course of study. The program focuses on film theory, film history, and offers surveys of world cinemas. Film theory classes discuss different ways of thinking about the cinema, and film history classes take a look at some of the most significant films ever made.
MFA Film ProductionMFA Film Production The Master of Fine Arts program in film production provides students with a course of study that is strongly professional in nature. Students take classes which prepare them for all aspects of filmmaking. This program is designed for students who want to pursue careers in the film and television arts.
MFA Film & TV ProducingMFA Film & TV Producing This program is similar to the MFA in Film Production, except that it has the added component of television production added into it. Students will study all aspects of film and television production and will have the opportunity to produce their own pieces.
MFA ScreenwritingMFA Screenwriting The MFA in Screenwriting is designed for students who wish to pursue careers as professional screenwriters. All aspects of screenwriting are discussed, from creative writing to how a story translates to a screen to how to market a script.
MFA Production DesignMFA Production Design This program involves coursework such as set design, illustration, story boarding, digital design and production design. It's a 2-year program and is designed for students who want to pursue careers in production design for the stage, television and movies.
MFA Film & TV Producing/MBAMFA Film & TV Producing/MBA This program is offered with the AACSB-accredited George L. Argyros School of Business and Economics, and it leads to both an MBA degree and an MFA in Film and Television Producing degree. Offered to full-time students, the program requires three years of study and acceptance to both the Argyros School of Business and Economics and the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts. The MBA/MFA in Film and Television Producing gives students the opportunity to obtain two highly marketable professional degrees. The program is for students who want to be employed in a management or executive level position at a production company, talent agency, studio, or television network.

MS Food ScienceMS Food Science Food science programs use a wide range of scientific disciplines to enhance students' understanding of microbiology, flavor technology, food chemical structure, and hydrodynamics. MA Psychology - Marriage and Family TherapyMA Psychology - Marriage and Family Therapy Students gain the practical experience needed for a career in private practice, teaching, or as therapists in government or private agencies. MFA Creative WritingMFA Creative Writing The MFA degree is intended for graduate students who wish to specialize in writing literary fiction. Although the program’s emphasis is on fiction, secondary studies include screenwriting, playwriting, and poetry. The MFA is a terminal degree which qualifies the holder to teach at the college and university level. The goal is the completion of a book-length project. This is a two-year program.
MA/MFA Dual Degree: English/Creative WritingMA/MFA Dual Degree: English/Creative Writing The Dual degree combines the MFA and the MA. It was created for students who wish to combine the practice and study of creative writing with literary scholarship. The Dual degree was specifically designed to meet the needs of students who intend to pursue a career in teaching English and creative writing at the university, community college or secondary school level. This is a three-year program.
Doctor of Physical TherapyDoctor of Physical Therapy The curriculum leading to the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree requires three calendar years of full-time enrollment and consists of 125 credits. Courses include anatomy, physiology, neuroscience, pathology, ethics, leadership and administration, and practice management courses. The curriculum has integrated and final clinical education experiences. The emphasis of the curriculum is evidence-based practice across the lifespan in order to produce competent clinicians who are prepared to assume leadership roles in the profession.
MS Health CommunicationMS Health Communication This program examines the role of interpersonal and mediated communication in health and strategic communication environments, including government, organizational life, health care, media systems and education.
Courses include education in human communication theory and methodology, along with such topics as delivering upsetting news, the accuracy of the media, the digital divide, public advocacy, inter cultural sensitivity, health literacy and the quality of interpersonal relationships.
