Overview
Founded in 1999, Advanced College is a career school dedicated to providing students with short-term and long-term training in business, healthcare, and information technology fields. Advanced College graduates are better prepared to succeed in a new career or advance in their current position. The campus is conveniently located in South Gate, CA.

Student Appeal
A diverse student body has access to career-oriented training with flexible program options in a variety of fields. Students can work toward a certificate or associate degree in a specialized area of healthcare, information technology, or business. Class schedules are constructed to accommodate students with other commitments who are interested in advancing their careers without disrupting their lives. Career placement assistance is available to all students.

Financial
Qualified students may receive financial aid in the form of federal loans and grants, as well as Veteran and Rehabilitation assistance. Advanced College is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE).

Associate Degrees

• AccountingAccounting
  This associate qualification includes core accounting courses as well as classes in psychology, composition, literature, and critical thinking, to provide an excellent well-rounded qualification. Students will be prepared to enter the work force as bookkeeper, payroll clerk, and clerical assistant.
• Business AdministrationBusiness Administration
  Students who complete this associate degree will be prepared for entry-level careers in a variety of business locations. Courses include fundamentals of business, accounting, and management, as well as science and arts courses.
• Healthcare ManagementHealthcare Management
  This associate degree course prepares graduates to work in medical offices, hospitals, and clinics, with courses in medical billing, Medical Law and Ethics, and Medical Office Software as well as human resources, health education, sociology, and critical thinking.
• Medical AssistantMedical Assistant
  Completing this associate degree will provide students with the training needed to work in clinical or outpatient care facilities. Courses include medical billing, insurance coding, lab procedures, pharmacology, anatomy, and physiology.

Certificates

• Computer NetworkingComputer Networking
  Completing this certificate provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge in hardware maintenance, compatibility, networking, and repair. Students will be qualified for entry-level technical support positions upon completion.
• Computer Systems Repair and Microsoft Certified ProfessionalComputer Systems Repair and Microsoft Certified Professional
  Students undertaking this course will learn how to troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on computers and computer networks. Completing the course qualifies graduates for a variety of entry-level positions including Computer Repair Technician, Technical Installer, and Network Administrator.
• Computerized AccountingComputerized Accounting
  This accounting certificate program focuses on computerized accounting and provides students with training in a range of computerized software applications. Students will learn about database management systems, bookkeeping, and accounting in preparation for entry-level positions.
• Computerized Office SkillsComputerized Office Skills
  Students who complete this certificate program will be familiar with a range of computer software for business applications, including database, word processing, and accounting software. Graduates will qualify for entry-level administrative and office positions.
• Massage TherapyMassage Therapy
  With classes in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage, this certificate program provides students with the core knowledge needed to sit for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork examination (NCBTMB) in Massage Therapy. Qualified students can obtain work in a hospital, massage clinic, chiropractic office, nursing home, or similar location.
• Medical Billing/Medical Front Office AssistantMedical Billing/Medical Front Office Assistant
  Completing this course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills in medical terminology, diagnosis, procedure coding and insurance concepts, and basic anatomy and physiology. Graduates will qualify for positions as medical receptionists, medical office clerks, medical billers and coders, and medical transcribers.
• Physical Therapy AidePhysical Therapy Aide
  Classes for this certificate program include several types of massage therapy classes as well as anatomy and physiology, physical therapy, medical office procedures, and medical billing and coding. Completing the course will qualify students to work as physical therapist assistants in many different healthcare settings.

Vocational

• Vocational Nursing ProgramVocational Nursing Program
  This nursing program emphasizes hands-on study by doing clinical at medical facilities in addition to theory work, with courses in nursing fundamentals, pharmacology, nutrition, maternity, pediatrics, and other specialties. Completing the course qualifies graduates for work in entry-level positions as Licensed Vocational Nurses.
